Sculpture & Painting

Child's Play

My current body of work has been crafted over one year. This length of time has allowed me to
investigate many materials and ideas. The work asks questions rather than provides answers,
emphasising the intrigue of the unknown and what we have left to explore. Do all life's questions
have to be answered?

Materials communicate with me and the work becomes the conversation. The titles of the works
suggest what may have been spoken. The conversation is now left with you to decipher, giving
you the opportunity to continue the conversation.

Hard edged linear repetition gives a flat surface depth and the layers of paint express the past
alongside the future. The 3 dimensional nature of sculpture allows it to retain a constant mystery.
This mystery is understood through an individual sculpture: body/size relationship.

My abstracted works allow me to open doors to many undiscovered paths and ideas.

By sculpting my paintings and painting my sculptures I learn to understand and demonstrate my
personal journey and existence.
