Artist's statement The classical concept of the Elysian Fields inspired this collection. The blissful pastoral landscaperepresented the classical ideals in terms of virtue, youth, beauty, proportion and fertility. Goddesses, Nymphs and blessed spirits are at home in this mythological landscape punctuated by sacred temples. The natural and supernatural co-exist in meadows, streams, ponds, fields, forests and caves where the blessed spirits dance, play and sleep. |
